Mason's Current Events
Mason chose global warming in Antarctica for current events today. He talked about how it will affect the inhabitants in Antarctica and the water levels rising due to icebergs melting. Also he said how it is our generation's problem and how we must do what we can to protect the environment.
Mason reads his notes grabbing our attention. |
It was very interesting actually ,not what I'd expect from Mason though. I thought he might talk about cars. I could tell he was quite nervous judging by his voice and the fact he was jumping topics but that's understandable considering it was his first time and not knowing what to expect.
We thought Mason grabbed our attention because he chose something most of us were interested in. I could tell because lots of people had questions on his notes. He had some good points too. Because it could be our problem it made us think a bit more.
Our feedback for Mason was to maybe say "Look that up on your ipod." when he did not know the answer. Mrs Sinclair has put a link she found onto Edmodo.
Take Aim at Climate Change It's got a cool rap that has heaps of links.
That is if you are curious!!!!
GOOD JOB Mason!!))

Awesome job, Mason. I looked up one of the questions we had and found this on stuff.co. It's recent (10th Sept 2012). http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/7644962/Ozone-hole-affecting-NZ-slowly-healing
We've had two great efforts to start our "Are you curious?" current events. Thanks guys-keep it up!
Great job on your current event mason. I wasn't there to see it but I read the blog and it sounded interesting.
Good job on your current events Mason. I liked your questions but maybe you should share your ideas more.
Nice job, you read everything out clearly and I could hear you clearly. You need more information.
Great job Mason. Nice to know more about the great big world and the countries we live near. Next step is finding a website to go with it.
It made me think and I guess that's a good thing but it felt way too quick.
Good job Mason, You had a lot of confidence in your work. What would you do if you had more information?
I was away for this Mason but it sounds really interesting.
Great job Mason. I liked it because the questions were good but I think you need more information.

Great job Mason, I really enjoyed your current event, it got me interested about Antarctica because I don't know a lot about Antarctica. But I think you need more information. Maybe you can answer these questions: What is the estimated date of Antarctica melting if it does? And If Antarctica were to melt. How much will the sea rise?
